About the diary

A research diary kept in an ordinary home

I share my home with a Labrador, a Toy Aussie, and a mixed-breed Chihuahua. My Labrador rushes the door and can be hard to get listening, while my Toy Aussie marks items such as laundry. I have tried a shock collar and prefer to explore reward-based options.

How the diary works

Logged in the same room, every time

This site begins with research into course curricula, support, equipment fit, and published product information. Where I try a product or routine, I will identify what I used and what I actually observed.

I am a dog owner sharing research and experiences, not a professional trainer. Illustrative images are not evidence of product testing. Serious behavior concerns belong with a qualified professional.

What is excluded

Force-free, zero-shock, and safe with heavy dogs

This site’s focus is reward-based training and practical management without shock collars. We compare published approaches and avoid promising a quick fix.

Product comparisons and household observations have limits. A result with one dog cannot guarantee the same outcome for another.
